Awards

Black Fly is honoured to have been recognized with a number of prestigious awards. We acknowledge the tremendous contribution of our dynamic and dedicated Black Fly team, our industry trade partners who ensure top quality ingredients, materials, services and distribution. And we are indebted to our loyal customers who continue to spread the word, share the love and drive the growth and success of Black Fly.

Our sincere thanks to each organization for these honours:

LCBO Small Supplier of the Year 2011

Each year the Liquor Board of Ontario, (LCBO) hosts a large awards event called the ELSIE awards (a play on the name LCBO) where they honour their trade partners (suppliers and agents) with awards of recognition for innovation, creativity, commitments to customer service, social responsibility, environmental initiatives etc. To receive 2 prestigious awards from the largest buyer of beverage alcohol in the world and a retailer with over 620 stores was quite an honour.

Originally a two-person team, today Black Fly sells five products nationally and has a proven track record of successful collaborations with us on new products, inventory planning and promotional programs. It has also implemented many environmental initiatives, including using locally-sourced PET bottles and green shrink biodegradable wrap, not to mention non-profit staffing solutions and working extensively with charitable organizations.

- LCBO President & CEO Bob Peter.

2011 LCBO Environmental & Ongoing Green Initiatives Award

The Environmental Commitment Award this year goes to a company that has implemented several green initiatives including using locally sourced PET bottles, carriers made with less corrugate and noglue as well as something new; using Green Shrink biodegradable wrap.
They also inspired one of the LCBO's leading sampling partners to make the switch to biodegradable PLA cups by leading the way.
These responsible decisions, among others, have translated into less energy use, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and better opportunities for recycling. And so we salute Blackfly Beverage Company with this year's Elsie for Environmental Commitment.
